AI Transparency Statement

EB Unlocked Limited (trading as Unlocked Expertise) is committed to being transparent about how and whether artificial intelligence is used in the delivery of our mentoring services. We believe users, mentors and commissioning partners have the right to understand the role of AI in any service they use.

The Unlocked platform has been built with the technical capability to support AI-assisted mentor matching and recommendation features. This capability is powered by AWS Bedrock and is currently disabled and not in active use.

At present, mentor matching and recommendations are managed through a combination of platform features and human curation by the Unlocked team. No AI system currently influences which mentors are shown to users, how they are ranked, or how sessions are recommended.

Before activating any AI-assisted features in our customer-facing services, we will:

• Update this statement with a clear description of what the AI does, what data it uses and how its outputs influence the user experience
• Update our Privacy Notice to reflect any changes in how personal data is processed
• Ensure appropriate human oversight of AI-generated recommendations — no significant decision affecting a user's access to services will be made solely by an automated system
• Conduct a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) where the processing is likely to result in a high risk to individuals
• Ensure users can query, understand and challenge any AI-influenced recommendations

User content — including session briefs, messages, business information and mentor profiles — is not used to train third-party AI models. Our AI capability, when activated, would use AWS Bedrock, which processes data on-demand without using customer data to improve its foundation models.

Any data used in AI-assisted features would be processed in accordance with our Privacy Notice, using the minimum data necessary for the specific purpose.

We recognise that AI systems can reflect biases present in training data and that algorithmic recommendations may not always be appropriate for every user. If and when AI features are activated, we will monitor for unintended bias, provide mechanisms for users to give feedback on recommendations, and maintain human oversight of the matching process.
