- What is Unlocked?
- Unlocked is a UK business mentoring platform. You write a short brief, get matched with a verified mentor who has already faced the same problem, and meet them by video. It is run by the team behind The Experience Bank.
- How is a mentor different from a consultant or a coach?
- A mentor has run a business and faced your problem before, and tells you what they would do from experience. A consultant is usually paid to deliver a piece of work, and a coach helps you find your own answers. Nobody in an Unlocked session is selling you further work.
- How are mentors verified?
- Every mentor is verified before joining. We review what they have actually done (built, sold, scaled, hired, restructured), hold a conversation with them and take references where relevant.
- Do I need a retainer or a long contract?
- No. You can pay as you go for a single session, or buy an Hour Pack if you expect to come back. There is no programme to sign up to.
- How do sessions work?
- Sessions run by video on a laptop or phone, at a time that suits you. Your brief and notes from previous sessions stay in one place, so each session starts with the right context.
- Can I change mentor?
- Yes, as often as you like. You are matched on the problem in front of you, so it makes sense to talk to whoever has been closest to it.
- Can my mentoring be funded?
- Some businesses have funded credits through a growth programme or partner organisation. Funded credits can be used alongside any Hour Packs you buy.
